Sound Camera
FLIR Si124 ultrasonic sound camera
intelligent sound camera
The FLIR Si124 is an intelligent, easy-to-use ultrasound camera. It is built to detect compressed air leaks and partial discharge (Partial Discharge) in high-voltage systems.
Huge light
The FLIR Si124 is enormously light (980 g), and therefore easy to handle with one hand. The working distance of this sound camera is a minimum distance of 0.3 meters to a maximum distance of up to 130 meters. This makes it the solution for detection of air leaks and partial discharge in the work field.
Built-in microphones
With its 124 built-in microphones and a frequency range of 2kHz to 31kHz, the Si124 sees through background noise commonly found in industrial environments. These noises affect the accuracy of measurements.
10x faster detection
The FLIR Si124 sound camera makes it possible to detect leaks 10x faster than you are used to. Because measuring and inspecting with the FLIR Si124 is easy to learn, the FLIR Si124 is the perfect measuring device even for a layman.

Electrical applications
The 3 most common electrical faults detected by ultrasound are:
- Spark
- Surface Discharge
- Corona discharge
The FLIR Si124 has a maximum working distance of 130 meters. This makes inspecting high voltage lines, electrical installations that are difficult to reach, etc. no problem at all.
With the FLIR Si124, you always work safely and efficiently.
Mechanical applications
Mechanical ultrasound can be used for the diagnosis and predictive maintenance of a variety of mechanical equipment. Examples include:
- Bearings
- Belts
- Pulleys
- Links
- Chains
The FLIR Si124 makes it possible to visualize friction. The more friction there is, the more ultrasonic sounds there are. Using the FLIR Si124, you can see at a single glance where the problem is. This allows you to intervene in time to prevent a worse situation.
Leak detection
Ultrasonic is ideal for detecting turbulence in gases and liquids. Just like more friction in mechanical applications, the more turbulence there is, the more ultrasound applies to leaks under pressure.
High-pressure steam leaks can be life-threatening. Compressed air leaks are often audible to the human ear. Yet the turbulence generated by these steam leaks is many times higher. This therefore translates into more ultrasonic sounds. So for the FLIR Si124 no problem to detect this.
Factors to consider while detecting a leak:
- Turbulence
- Form of opening
- Pressure differences
- Viscosity of the liquid
- Distance from the leak
- Accessibility to the leak
