Description about Thermography Level 2 Course

Advanced Certified Training in Thermography

Who This Level Is Intended For

The Level 2 course builds on Level 1. You should take this course if you want to further specialize in thermography. You may only participate if you have a valid Level 1 certificate and at least one year of experience with thermographic inspections.

Program and Content

In this course, you will apply the concepts of thermodynamics in a practical setting and explore the differences within the infrared spectrum. You’ll learn how emissivity affects your measurements, what active thermography entails and how to apply it, and how to take measurements through an IR window. You’ll also learn how to select the right equipment for your application.

This course also lasts five days and takes place in Maastricht: during the first three days, you’ll combine theory with practical demonstrations; on day four, you’ll practice on your own; and on day five, you’ll wrap up with a summary, a multiple-choice exam, and the evaluation of a thermogram.

What you'll be able to do after the course

Level 2 delves deeper into the physics of infrared radiation as it relates to the object being measured. After completing this training, you will be able to identify the advantages and disadvantages of thermography for a variety of applications, enabling you to provide your clients with the best possible advice. You will establish inspection and reporting procedures and supervise Level 1 thermographers in their daily work.

Certification

For this training course as well, Thermal Focus is partnering with Iris Thermovision, a licensed partner of the Infrared Training Center and a BINDT-approved training organization. The ITC Level 2 certificate is valid for five years from the date you earn it.

Exam

After the exam, you will receive a certificate of participation. To earn the ITC Level 2 certificate, you must answer at least 75% of the 60 exam questions correctly. You will receive your results approximately fourteen days after the exam.
